Ceramics Beyond Borders
September 1, 2006
A major event organized by the Japanese University Graduates Association in Singapore (JUGAS), co-organised by eZoo music and fine arts, supported by the Japanese Embassy in Singapore, the National Library and the various ceramics associations in Singapore, “Ceramics Beyond Borders” is an event commemorating the 40 years of bilateral relationships between Singapore and Japan. Building on the close economic relationship between both countries, this exhibition aims to deepen the cultural exchange between Singapore and Japan through pottery.
The organisers’ hope is that the exhibition will be the beginning of a meaningful and deep cultural exchange between Singapore and Japan. As such, it is intended that the exhibition will feature ceramic works by both Singaporean and Japanese artists. The reason for focusing on ceramics is that ceramics in Asia has a rich history and tradition. Accordingly, ceramics is an appropriate medium by which to foster relationships between Singapore and Japan as well as to reach out to the rest of the world.
“Master Class” on 28th May 2007
In 2007, eZoo launched their initial plan to hold a “Master Class” Minimum twice yearly for students who has been recommended by their teacher. Students are trained to play the violin with the accompanying pianist. eZoo sees the importance of learning to play the violin with an accompaniment of the piano as it helps students keep their tempo in check and become more musically expressive.
For this event alone, eZoo has invited an experienced Piano cum Violin Instructor from Shanghai MDM WU to coach the students and guide them for their performance.
“Christmas Musical Performance”
November 16 - December 24, 2007 - eZoo prepared a Christmas Musical consisting of Solo, Duet and Trio performances of instructors/artists and students. It was held at China Square Central, Level 1 Atrium.
